Contextualization

While the word contextualization is something you probably can’t say five times fast, it is a key skill to help us better understand the world around us. Even more importantly, it helps you avoid presentism—the act of seeing the past through the lens of today. Throughout the course, you will be presented with the Contextualization Tool, which will help you develop this skill and build your historical empathy.
