  11. Under the position tool in the ANNOTATIONS menu, hit the center button and it should move the vertical line to the area you need it. (You also can achieve this by hitting return after pasting in Avocado shortage Nov 11 :: Nov-11 in the field above.
  12. Now go down to the FOOTER menu on the right side of the toolbar. Under source name, paste this: Hass Avocado Board• Source information compiled by the Hass Avocado Board

  • You also can do this in the image countdown ticker and sub the World Cup logo for the default Olympic logo

OPTION L: Olympic Swimming Animation

Just before the Tokyo Olympics, Google added animated templates for swimming, track and cycling to Google Flourish. You can now recreate a race using lap times and finish times. It even awards medals to the top three at the end. Steps/how to:

  1. Download this spreadsheet that I built from times off Olympics.com: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VMelihHpAkyqZj2t_Wp19nwoMnyGf_yP/view?usp=sharing
  2. Go to the Sports Race section in the Flourish templates and open Swimming
  3. Give it a title in the upper left corner (Swimming Graphic is fine)
  4. Click on the Data tab at the top and then hit the blue upload button in the upper right corner to upload your spreadsheet.
  5. Click on the Preview tab and you can see the icons swimmin’ away!
  6. Let’s customize it. On the right rail, click on the header pulldown menu and drop this in the Title field: Tokyo Olympics Men’s 100-Meter Freestyle Final
  7. In the Text field, add: Results are based on 50-meter time and finish. (You can add more detail about the winner, etc., if you like)
  8. Now open the Footer field and add Olympics.com in the Source field and this link in the Source Link field: https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/olympic-games/en/results/swimming/results-men-s-100m-freestyle-fnl-000100-.htm
  9. Now go to the Track and Participants flyout menu. Here you can click the arrow next to the Color Panel, hit edit and drag the colors to each participant you want (Blue for USA swimmer, red for Australia, etc.)
  10.  Now go to the Timeline and Animation flyout menu and use the settings pictured below. I turned on the Playback Button option and turned off the loop option. I also set the duration time from the default 20 second to 47 seconds — the actual length of the race — to make it more authentic.
  1.  Now hit the Export and Publish button in the upper right corner and embed/link to the graphic.
  2. Here’s how mine turned out: https://public.flourish.studio/visualisation/6884533/

OPTION M:
Olympic Track Animation

Just before the Tokyo Olympics, Google added animated templates for swimming, track and cycling to Google Flourish. You can now recreate a race using lap times and finish times. It even awards medals to the top three at the end. Steps/how to:

  1. Download this spreadsheet that I built from times off Olympics.com: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14YQHvJNl_muPQ94lbTdd1yADZXrZLkrOuFcj_VlPjf4/edit#gid=0
  2. Go to the Sports Race section in the Flourish templates and open Athletics
  3. Give it a title in the upper left corner (Track Graphic is fine)
  4. Click on the Data tab at the top and then hit the blue upload button in the upper right corner to upload your spreadsheet.
  5. Click on the Preview tab and you can see the icons runnin’!
  6. Let’s customize it. On the right rail, click on the header pulldown menu and drop this in the Title field: Tokyo Olympics Women’s 800-Meter Final
  7. In the Text field, add: Results are based on 400-meter lap time and finish time. (You can add more detail about the winner, etc., if you like)
  8. Now open the Footer field and add Olympics.com in the Source field and this link in the Source Link field: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14YQHvJNl_muPQ94lbTdd1yADZXrZLkrOuFcj_VlPjf4/edit#gid=0
  1. Now go to the Track and Participants flyout menu. Here you can click the arrow next to the Color Panel, hit edit and drag the colors to each participant you want (Blue for USA runner, red for Great Britain, etc.)
  2.  Unlike the swimming template, it’s hard to adjust the time settings under Timeline and Animation to reflect the 1:57 finish time for the race. So it goes much faster than the actual race.
  3.  Now hit the Export and Publish button in the upper right corner and embed/link to the graphic.
